Karl Bitterer was the son and pupil of Josef Bitterer. He achieved his Master's certificate in 1958. His work included Stradivari, Guarneri, and Maggini models, as well as historical instruments after J. Tielke. He received awards in New York in 1980, Salt Lake City in 1982, and Kassel in 1983.
