Gilles Duhaut
Bow maker

Gilles is part of the rebirth of French bowmaking, having studied under Bernard Ouchard in Mirecourt from 1973-1976. After graduating, he spends 6 months with Jacques Camurat in Paris before returning to Mirecourt to assist Bernard Ouchard.
He then joins Paul Dider in Metz from 1978 until 1981, before opening his own workshop in Mirecourt in 1982. He opens his own school of bowmaking in 2012 in Tours, and has taught many successful young makers around the globe.
He has also developed a bow specific to jazz playing with violinist Didier Lockwood, and won first prize at the 1993 Musicora competition in Paris.
