Josef Bohumil Herclik was the son and pupil of Frantisek Herclík. He trained in Luby (Schönbach) and used Stradivari and Guarneri models. Aged wood was reclaimed from old buildings, and he applied a red-brown oil varnish of his own formula. He created instruments in 19.. / J. B. Herclík / Mistr Houslar / Mladá Boleslav / Op.. Model.. He also made instruments in 19.. / J. B. Herclík / Mistr Houslar / Mladá Boleslav / Op. 550, Model A Stradivarius. The wood was sourced from Humprechta castle and St. Mary Magdalene church in Sobotka.
