Charles Edward Herbrig

Charles Edward Herbrig was a violin and bow maker. He was active in Montgomery from 1908 and established his work in St. Paul from 1922 to 1958. He used 1721 Stradivari and Guarneri violins as models, along with his personal designs. His craftsmanship was of fine quality. Early in his career, he utilized pale yellow varnish, later incorporating deeper colors. Bows were branded with the name CHASE HERBRIG. He completed about 75 instruments.
