Carlo Schiavi
Violin maker
(1908 – 1943)
Carlo Schiavi was a pupil of L. Digiuni and F. Kresnik. He was the first teacher appointed at the Cremona International School of Violin Making. He exhibited in Cremona in 1937 and in Berlin in 1938. He died during World War II. His work included Stradivari, Guarneri, and personal models, utilizing fine materials. He applied a golden and slightly pink-red spirit varnish.
