Karl Willy Heckel

Karl Willy Heckel apprenticed to Heinrich Todt from 1912 to 1915. He worked as Todt's assistant until 1923, after which he moved to Kraslice (Graslitz) to work for A. K. Hiittl, where he was in charge of varnishing. He established himself independently in Markneukirchen before emigrating to the USA in 1929. In New York City, he worked for W. Voigt and established his own business there in 1937. His work featured classical models and fine workmanship, utilizing both oil and spirit varnishes in shades ranging from light yellow to red-brown.
