Raffaele Desideri
Violin maker
(c. 1797 – 1871)
Raffaele Desideri was the son or nephew of Pietro Desideri and worked for Galeazzi before establishing his own workshop in via Trivio, Ascoli in 1827. He crafted violins, cellos, and guitars. His slightly eccentric model featured sloping soundholes positioned close to the edge and open 'c' bouts with small corners. The instruments had full arching and a high-quality golden brown varnish.
