Nicolas Joseph Harmand
Bow maker
(1793 – 1862)
Nicolas Joseph Harmand apprenticed in Mirecourt as an organ builder and bow maker, being the son of Louis. His work was fine but rare, and he seemed to have ceased production altogether around 1845. Bows were made in the style of Adam, featuring slightly elongated frogs with a deep throat, lacking slide, shield, or star inlays, with some being plain. A long screw button was present. He branded his work with HD or HARMAND (with the 'N' reversed).
