Toussaint Nicolas Germain Lefèvre
Bow maker
(c. 1750 – c. 1820)
Toussaint Nicolas Germain Lefèvre was a violin and bow maker. He established his workshop in the Rue de Cimetière Saint-Jean and worked at 20 rue Saint-Antoine starting in 1813. His violins were unremarkable, but his bows were interesting; his early work, from around 1775 to 1780, followed the 'Cramer' model and was in the style of Tourte or Meauchand. Around 1790, he changed to adopt a L. Tourte pattern. He branded his work as: LEFEVRE CIMITIERE St-JEAN A PARIS.
