Bartolomeo Pasta (c.1640 – winter 1706/spring 1707) is, for the moment, the only Milanese violin maker known with certainty to have served an apprenticeship in Cremona — he is first recorded there in 1660, living as a shop boy in Nicolò Amati's own household. In 1694 the Pastas briefly shared a building with the newly arrived Testore family — the "Dog Howling at the Moon" inn — suggesting some short professional collaboration that did not last, since the Pastas moved out again within the year.
