Pietro Antonio Bellone (b. c.1653), first recorded on the Santo Stefano parish census in 1673 at the age of twenty, married Margarita Riboldi and had nine children between 1675 and 1697, though almost all died in infancy. He moved frequently — sharing houses at various points with both the Pasta and Lavazza families, evidence of the tightly interwoven Contrada Larga maker community — before leaving ...Read More the parish for good sometime between 1700 and 1710. He is the only Milanese maker of this circle known to have used a nickname on his own labels, "il Pescorino" ("the little fisherman"), likely adopted to distinguish himself among Milan's many other Bellones.
