Pietro Anselmo
Violin maker
–
Pietro Anselmo was the subject of much speculation by Henley and others. Vannes stated that he was a pupil of Malvolti, which seemed more likely than Henley's belief that he studied in Cremona. He created a very refined small Amatise model with a narrow elongated scroll and rich golden-brown varnish. Cellos were singled out for particular regard, but they were rarely encountered.
