Francesco Verzella
Violin maker
(1840 – 1928)
A pupil of Lorenzo Ventapane in Naples. Several of his instruments were made for Vincenzo Gagliano and are labeled as such. Teacher of Armando Altavilla; he may also have advised Vincenzo Sannino.
He worked in various locations in Naples, including Largo S. Antoniello a Costantinopoli, which has led to the misconception that he moved to Constantinople.
