Edmond Saunier
Violin maker

Edmond Saunier worked for D. F. Lambert in Nancy. He was active in Bordeaux from 1754 to 1765. He established himself in Paris around 1766 at 270 rue Saint-Martin, moved to rue Tiquetonne in 1770, and then to rue des Prouvaires in 1773. He belonged to the Mirecourt school and produced flat arches with yellow varnish. His work was well-finished, and he made a large number of plucked instruments of various types. He branded his instruments internally as 'Saunier' or 'Saunier A Paris. '.
