Paolo Guadagnini was the son and pupil of Francesco Guadagnini and the last in a 250-year lineage of violin makers. He first studied with his father and later collaborated with Annibale Fagnola. His production was limited, totaling only about 20 instruments, as much of his time was occupied with dealing and repair work. His small output is reminiscent of his father's work and features a pale orange to reddish orange varnish. Guadagnini became a casualty of World War II.
