Giuseppe Guadagnini I
Violin maker
(1753 – 1805)
Giuseppe Guadagnini, son of celebrated violin maker Giovanni Battista Guadagnini, trained with and assisted his father in Parma and Turin in the 1760s-70s before finding his way as an independent maker. Like his father, he traveled widely for his work, including to Pavia, Como, and Milan. Of the violin making sons of G.B. Guadagnini, he appears to have been the most prolific.
