François Claudot
(1865 – 1937)
François Claudot was the brother of Felix Claudot. He apprenticed to A. Darte before taking a position with Bernardel in Paris from 1884 to 1886. After completing military service, he established himself in Dijon around 1889 at 9, rue de Bourg, where his nephew Albert later joined him. His work was highly professional and based on classical models. He produced approximately 95 violins, violas, and cellos. His instruments were branded internally with 'Claudot, Dijon'.
