Claudio Gamberini
Violin maker
(1895 – 1965)
Claudio Gamberini was a pupil of Mozzani. He produced good quality commercial work. All edges were softened and somewhat indistinct, yet consistently well-made. His personal model featured broad purfling and a relatively small scroll. He often utilized unusually figured wood and applied a thin but deeply coloured dark red-brown varnish. He made all members of the violin family, including double basses, as well as guitars.
