Antonio Gagliano II
Violin maker
(1791 – 1860)
Antonio Gagliano was the son of Giovanni Gagliano and worked in partnership with his brother Raffaele. Their instruments were noted for their good sound but lacked distinction in workmanship. Only recently has credible biographical information concerning the violin makers of the Neapolitan school come to light. Until the experts who have researched this material publish their archival findings, the birth and death dates of these makers remain as previously accepted
