Luigi Galimberti
Violin maker

Luigi Galimberti worked as a pupil of Rottola and Antoniazzi. He was employed by the Monzino company from 1928 to 1930. He established himself in Milan, first at 7 Piazza Borromeo and later at 17 via Dolomiti. He received medals awarded in Rome and Florence. A prolific maker of bowed instruments, he created 30 double basses and numerous guitars. His Antoniazzi and Classical models featured golden-yellow varnish, both oil and spirit based. He branded his instruments on the upper back with 'LG'.
