While John I stands out for his craftsmanship and immense productivity, his father Edward, brother James I, and nephews James II andEdward III all made bows. Many bear the brand, "Dodd," are unstamped, or bear the brands of the various firms for whom the family worked. Individual authorship can often be ascertained, but in some cases attribution is limited to an unidentified member of the Dodd family.
