George Nicolas Einsele
Violin maker
(1868 – 1940)
George Nicolas Einsele worked for William Lewis & Son in Chicago, where he made approximately 70 instruments from 1912 to 1914. He returned to Brunswick around 1915. The shop later became known as 'Perfection Musical String Co. ' He continued to sell instruments through Lewis in Chicago. His work was generally good, primarily based on the Guarneri model, with some Stradivari and Arnati models. He created an antique shaded varnish of his own formulation, although much of the finishing was completed by his assistant Tetto Gallo. Over 750 instruments were labeled by him, many of which were made in the white by Ferdinando Garimberti in Milan.
