Violin maker
(1860 – 1921)

Hagbarth Joachim Gulbrand Enger, son of Gulbrand Enger, trained in his father’s workshop from around the age of 14. Also studied with David Bittner in Vienna and Andreas Rieger in Munich. Inherited his father's workshop but went bankrupt in 1896. Wrote ‘Notes on Danish violin making’ about historical Danish violin makers, today held at Copenhagen’s Musical Instrument Museum.
