Christian Samuel Ficker
Violin maker
(1766 – 1819)
Christian Samuel Ficker was admitted to the violin maker's guild in 1791. He produced professional work based on a Stainer-inspired model, characterized by a fairly clean and professional finish, though the detail work was done poorly. His instruments featured a thin clear yellow-brown varnish and were branded internally with 'C. S. F.'. A printed label inside read: *C*S*Ficker* / *18*.. *.
