Zosimo Bergonzi
Violin maker
(1724 – 1779)
Zosimo Bergonzi was the son of Carlo Bergonzi (I). He was the only active luthier in Cremona for a brief period around 1760, although evidence of his work is limited. A mandolin from 1770 is part of the collection at the Museo Stradivariano in Cremona, and a child's violin, dated 1775 and featuring painted imitation purfling, still exists. Additionally, two violin moulds bearing his name are also housed in the Museo Stradivariano collection.
