One salient element of Storioni's style, however, is clear and present in Dollenz's work, and would become a hallmark of Trieste violin making: the upper portions of the c-bouts are extended into hooked corners. Varnish is somewhat transparent. The work of Dollenz and his son Giuseppe is interesting and well regarded, and the two almost certainly collaborated in the 1850s .
