Sébastien Auguste Deroux

Sébastien Auguste Deroux worked as the son and pupil of Georges Deroux. He was employed by Silvestre in Lyons from 1866 to 1869, and then by Miremont in Paris from 1873 to 1884, where he became the head of the workshop. In 1884, he established his own business at 16 rue Geoffroy-Marie, Paris. After his death, Millant revived this shop. A total of 244 instruments are recorded with his signature; these include copies of Stradivari and Guarneri, featuring red-brown varnish and an excellent standard of finish.
