Jean-Pascal studied bowmaking under Bernard Ouchard in Mirecourt from 1974 until 1977.
He then opened his workshop in Paris, restoring antique bows for luthiers, and making his own bows inspired by F.N. Voirin.
From 1986 to 1990, he worked in the workshop of C.L. Hommel, luthier in Marseille, before setting up his own business there where he is still making bows, mostly inspired by F. X. Tourte.
He won the Mittenwald competition in 1989, and the Manchester competition in 1992.
He was awarded the title of "Meilleur Ouvrier de France" in 1997.
