Alvina de Ferenczi came from a family of important Hungarian violin makers. She immigrated to America in 1904 and lived in Colorado. In 1910 she married and stopped violin making shortly thereafter to begin a pastry business with her husband in New Jersey. She moved to New Smyrna Beach in 1944.
