Anton Zwerger was active in Salzburg from around 1800 and illustrated a fine piccolo violin dated 1810 in Passau, Germany. His work was typical of the Mittenwald style, following the Klotz model, characterized by a medium high arch and thin red-brown varnish. The craftsmanship was very neat and well regulated.
