Orsolo Gotti
Violin maker
(1867 – 1922)
Orsolo Gotti studied under Carletti, Soffritti, and Pollastri in Bologna. He won first prize in Rome in 1918. His fine work featured personal models with a good dark red or golden-brown varnish. He also created close copies of various old masters, which were accurate enough to have been fraudulently re-labelled later.
