Marshall Youngman
Violin maker

Marshall Youngman was a self-taught amateur maker from 1880. He established himself professionally in Halifax around 1890. He completed 36 violins, one viola dated 1917, and seven cellos. His work included Stradivari and personal models. The sound-holes featured a Guadagnini style with pear-shaped eyes. He used a fine transparent oil varnish in various shades.
