Franz Anton Wild
(c. 1790 – 1834)
Franz Anton Wild created unattractive Stainer copies. They were well made but featured a high arch, deeply worked edge flute, and thin dark opaque varnish. Henley noted that the ground consisted of a glue base, which was notorious for its vulnerability to water and lack of adhesion.
