English maker best known for his small cellos. Active at various addresses in Leeds from 1808. His workshop employed Thomas Absam, John Gough and John Fryer and was continued after his death by Mary Dearlove (either his wife or daughter, who both bore this name) and then his son Mark William from around 1830. Brand: 'Dearlove, Leeds' or 'Dearlove, maker, Leeds.' Also used a manuscript label: 'Mark Dearlove, Boar Lane, Leeds.'
