Ludwig Glaesel was a member of the firm `Glaesel and Herwig' starting in 1867 and established his own workshop around 1889. He received several medals at international exhibitions and was a commercial manufacturer of instruments in graded qualities. His finest work was based on the Stradivari model, and he was recognized as the leading maker in the town during this period.
