Lorenzo and Tomaso Carcassi were brothers who shared a workshop and often collaborated using a joint label during the period c.1750-1780. Thought to have been pupils of Giovanni Battista ...Read More Gabrielli, who was working in Florence around that time, the brothers were also heavily inspired by Jacob Stainer. Stainer's influence was widespread in Florence during the mid-18th century, which may partly be due to the prominence of the Austrian Habsburg family in Tuscany.

Their varnish tends to be of a yellow-brown color. While they produced some works independently, most of their works bear a joint label. Read Less
