Jules Merciolle
Violin maker

Jules Merciolle was a pupil of Grillon and worked for Mangenot and Audinot in Mirecourt, later moving to Paris to work with G. Bernardel in 1899, and subsequently with Caressa and Francais. He established his own workshop in 1911 at rue des Petites-Ecuries in Paris. His instruments featured Stradivari and Guarneri models, showcasing accurate and carefully finished workmanship, along with a good golden-red varnish.
