Martin Tieffenbrunner

Violin maker
(1687 – after 1735)

Martin Tieffenbrunner was believed to have had a father, Joachim Tieffenbrunner, who was also a luthier, although no evidence remains. He was likely a pupil of Mathias Klotz. Several violas and at least one violin from 1718 were recorded. The style was very similar to Klotz, but there were no remarkable achievements in workmanship.
