Eugen Sprenger I
Violin maker
(1882 – 1953)
Eugen Sprenger was the youngest son and pupil of Anton Sprenger (II). He worked with his brother Adolf in Munich starting in 1900, after gaining experience in Switzerland and England. He established himself independently in Frankfurt in 1907. The shop was closed during the First World War from 1914 to 1919, but he resumed operations thereafter in the Hochstrasse. He produced fine classical copies and also made plucked instruments.
