Jean Laurent Clement

Jean Laurent Clement established a workshop at 16 rue des Petits Champs, Paris, from 1810 to 1848. Some labels indicated the address as rue St-Orge or rue des Bons-Enfants. He employed Georges Chanot, Augière, Calot, and Thomassin, gaining a reputation as a leading authority. The workshop produced fine instruments in the contemporary Parisian style after Lupot. He was a medal winner at the Paris Exhibitions in 1823 and 1827. Additionally, he made guitars, some of which were highly decorated.
