Jan Baptist van der Slaghmeulen



(c. 1660 – 1700)

Jan Baptist van der Slaghmeulen created an Amati-derived work of typical Flemish character. It featured broad purfling and widely cut soundholes. The cello had a good texture golden or dark brown oil varnish. It was exhibited in Paris in 1878 with a carved and gilded head.
