Johann Christian Schuster
Violin maker
(1753 – 1820)
Johann Christian Schuster was the son of Georg Schuster. He became a member of the violin makers guild in 1778. Although some labels indicated Prague as his place of work, this may have been fanciful. His work exhibited good quality typical of the town, following the Stainer model, with soundholes positioned close to the edges and a good golden-brown varnish.
