J. A. Baader & Co. manufactured various grades of instruments, ranging from machine-made to hand-crafted. All types of plucked and bowed instruments were produced. The factory was located at 155 Obere Markstrasse. Founded in 1790 in Mittenwald a/Isar, Bayern, it was owned by Max Baader and operated under the name Koniglich Bayerische Hof-Saiteninstrumenten Fabrik. No. 18.
