Bow maker
(1839 – 1875)

Trained with his uncle, Christian Friedrich. Worked for the Bausch and Neuner shops before establishing himself independently in Berlin in 1868. Stamp: 'H. KNOPF BERLIN'. An outstanding maker who supplied many fine bows to the Kittel shop in Saint Petersburg; hence many of his bows bear the Kittel brand.
