Gérard J. Deleplanque made many and various bowed and plucked stringed instruments. His violins and cellos exhibited awkward workmanship, featuring high arches but well-selected wood and quality orange-brown varnish. A finely crafted and decorated guitar from 1768 was located in the Musee de la Musique, Paris. He worked as a luthier at rue de la grande chaussée, corner of celle des Dominicains in Lille in 1788.
