Aristide Cavalli
Violin maker
(1856 – 1931)
Aristide Cavalli was the son and pupil of Savino Cavalli and also trained with G. Beltrani. He established himself in Cremona in 1880, where he founded the `Officina C. Monteverdi,' which successfully produced instruments for several years, employing multiple craftsmen. While he produced student-grade instruments at this workshop, his own personal instruments were of a higher quality. Later, he taught at the Cremona International School of Violin Making and was decorated for his contributions to the craft.
