Mathurin-François Remy
(c. 1760 – 1790)
Mathurin-François Remy established his workshop in rue Sainte-Marguerite-Saint Antoine around 1760-1775 and in rue Tiquetonne from approximately 1775 to 1790. He created violins in the style of Guersan and Gaviniès, producing diminutive models featuring medium-high arches and golden-red varnish. Many forms of plucked and bowed instruments were made by him, including a viola d'amore that was branded and is now in the Berlin Museum.
