Garner Wilson
Bow maker
(1944 – 2013)
One of the last of the Hill bow makers, Garner Wilson joined the W.E. Hill & Sons firm aged 16, receiving his training from William Watson and Arthur Bultitude, with frequent advice from William Retford. He left the firm in 1966 and set up his own workshop in Suffolk in 1969, then moved to Dingwall in Scotland in 1989. Wilson's bows for the firm are marked with the numeral 12; his own work is branded 'Garner Wilson'.
