Haim Rapoport studied in St Petersburg under A. A. Shvalm Wishnegorsky and also learned with Andre Chardon in Paris. He established himself in Tel Aviv, Israel, in 1925, creating violins and bows of high quality based on Stradivari and other classical Italian models. He was also a repairer and restorer.
