Apprenticed to his uncle Antonín Pilar (I), in Berlin. Worked for O. Spidlen in Prague, 1919-1921, and J. Vedral in The Hague 1922-1924. Established independently in Kradni Králové from 1924. Fine accurate work on classical Italian models. Excellent materials. Karel Pilar houslar / v Kradni Králové / Roku 1927 (set within a soundhole shaped cartouche).
